John Perry Brittingham, Sr.83, of 1272 Orphanage Road died Wednesday March 09, 2011 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Brittingham was born February 27, 1928, in New Haven Conn. to the late George and Anna Marie Laub Brittingham. He was a security guard with Dan River Inc. and before that he was a sheet metal technician with Dan River Inc. He was of the Catholic faith, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Brittingham was married to Ruth Landrum Brittingham. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three(3) daughters, Judy Martin ,Peggy Hall and Alice Stephens all of Danville. One (1) son John P. Brittingham Jr. of Dry Fork, Va. Mr. Brittingham is also survived by seven(7) grandchildren and six(7) greatgrandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one (1) daughter Deborah Flacker and by several sisters and brothers.
