John P. Ryan, Jr., 85, of Bethlehem, formerly of Fountain Hill, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Valley Manor Nursing Home, Coopersburg. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Weaver) Ryan for 54 years. Born on February 7, 1930 in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late John P. Ryan, Sr. and Clara (Pastor) Schmidt. He worked for PBNE as a Yardmaster for 30 years before retiring in 1982. John was a member of St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem and former member of the MORA Club. He enjoyed spending time restoring old furniture, fishing and hunting. Surviving: In addition to his loving wife Mary Lou; son, Kevin Ryan and wife Shirley of Nunn, CO; daughters, Karyn O’Neill and husband Michael of Reading, MA, Patricia Silfies and husband Troy of Center Valley; step-son, Keith Howland and wife Beth of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Sarah Carten, Trent Silfies, Trevor Silfies, Tryce Silfies; brother, Thomas Ryan of KY.
