Passed away peacefully, at age 85, on September 6, 2015 at his home in Scottsdale, AZ. John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 64 years, daughter Cheryl Coyne (husband Jack), and sons Richard and Mark (wife Patricia), 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Thomas in 2009.
John was born and raised in Staten Island, NY, where at the age of 17 he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served until 1952. He was an active member of The 5th US Cavalry Association, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. In 1981, he moved to Middletown NJ until 2006, when he retired and fulfilled his dream of moving to the warmth of Scottsdale, Arizona.
John was a skilled mechanical draftsman who worked on many nuclear projects and piping design for manufacturing cooling systems throughout the country and made many friends along the way.
He was a kind-hearted and humorous man who touched many lives and will be missed in so many ways!
