John Marke, 86, of Dix, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
He was born February 17, 1934 in Hamtramck, Michigan, the son of Stanley Marke and Sophie (Wojciechowski) Marke.
He married Iva Berning on June 19, 1954 and she preceded him in death on January 18, 2020. He is survived by five children: Collene DeKalb of Odin, Lorrene White of Odin, Sophie McMean and husband Mike of Odin, Jim Marke and wife Pat of Dix, Bill Marke of Odin and friend Diane of Carlyle; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and one on the way; two great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters: Dorothy Mucci of Lansing, Michigan and Margie Szumlinski of Caseville, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents: Stanley and Sophie Marke, wife: Iva Marke, a son: Bobby Marke, a daughter-in-law: Dena Marke, and two brothers: Jim Marke and Arthur Marke.
John worked at Hollywood Candy Factory for many years. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandkids, family and friends.
