John Helenhouse, 44, of Hillside, formerly of Ottawa, died Sunday night, March 18, 2018 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. John Mark Helenhouse was born on January 11, 1974, in Joliet to Donald L. and Bernice (Heisner) Helenhouse.
He was a 1995 graduate of Ottawa Township High School, and had been employed at Friendship Village. John is survived by his mother, Bernice Cannon, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and siblings: Paul Helenhouse, of Wilmington, Patrick (Nan) Helenhouse, of Claremore, OK, Dennis (Nannette) Helenhouse, of Kodiak, Alaska, Donna (Claudell) Johnson, of Trenton, Florida, Jim (Colleen) Helenhouse, of Glen Ellyn, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, and step-fathers, Howard Cannon, and Val Polancic.
