John M. McGowan, 78, of Spring Valley, passed away Tuesday, June 06, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Mr. McGowan was born June 9, 1938 in Carterville to William A. and Ethel (Mattingly) McGowan.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in LaSalle. He was a member of the Teamsters and drove semi-trucks for the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include two sisters and many nieces and nephews, including Billie Jean McGowan of Oglesby. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian; his second wife, Joan; two sisters and six brothers.
