John M. “Jack” Hutchins, 76 of Centralia, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Hutchins was born January 19, 1939 in Litchfield, son of Robert Hutchins and Lilian (Dudley) Hutchins.

He married Vivian (Huffstutler) (Sisk) Hutchins on September 19, 1987 and she survives in Centralia. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by step-children: Deb (Sisk) Kelm and husband Mark of Johnsonville, Ken Sisk and wife Renee of Mt. Vernon, Tina (Sisk) Altenbaumer and husband Mike of Centralia; Jack also had five children from his first marriage: Rick Hutchins, Mike Hutchins and Karen Matthews of Utah, Terri Towell of Litchfield, and David Hutchins of Montana; several step-grandchildren: Terry Cline and wife Dawn of Sandoval, Lisa Moore and BJ of Fairfield, Justin Daugherty of Johnsonville, Stephanie Murphy and husband Tom of Centralia, Gayla Morrow and husband Jonathan of Texas, Kara Sisk of Mt. Vernon, Luke Altenbaumer and Katey Altenbaumer both of Centralia; grandchildren: Keith Hutchins, Eric Hutchins, Jennifer Hutchins, Kendra Baque, Brad Dewitt, Angie Dewitt, Michael Hutchins, Daniel Hutchins, Kyle Matthews, Kayla Matthews, Jaden Hutchins and Bodie Hutchins; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lil Troch and Mary Patik; two brothers: Jerry Hutchins and wife Regina of Colorado and Ronnie Hutchins and wife Carlene of Arizona; two sister-in-laws: Gerre Arney and husband Bob of Dix and Sue Barmore of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Robert Hutchins, Jr., Roy Hutchins, Bill Hutchins, Georgie Hutchins, a sister, Hilda Hutchins, mother-in-law, Grace Powell, father-in-law, Lester Huffstutler, two brother-in-laws: Audrey Huffstutler and Ferrell “Huff” Huffstutler, and grandchildren: Serena Hutchins and Brian Dewitt. Jack was a concrete finisher early in his career, then became an over the road truck driver for many years. He loved NASCAR Racing and was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He spent many weekends cheering “JR” on in the races.

He also had a love for Bluegrass music and attended many weekend festivals throughout the area. He also played many instruments including: guitar, fiddle, dobro, and mandolin throughout the years. He enjoyed fishing and time with family was also a love of Jacks, which included a lot of joking and teasing.
