John M. Griffith, 86 formerly of Jonesboro, Indiana died on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Fairmont Rehab Center in Kokomo, Indiana.
Born Friday, October 7, 1927 in Whitley County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Linzy Griffith and the late Nellie J.Cupp Griffith. He married Edith Longworth. They had four children before her death. He then married Roberta Cole. She also preceded him in death.
John retired from the Kokomo Chrysler Transmission plant in after 22 years in January 1994 as material handler. He was member of Kokomo U.A.W. Local 685. and the Marantha Ministries of Elwood. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and gardening. Surviving are 3 sons: Paul (Jean) Griffith, Jonesboro, IN Robert (Guillermina) Griffith, Kokomo, IN James (Sandy) Griffith, Lakeland, FL 8 Grandchildren 17Great Grandchildren 2 Great-Great Grandchildren,
John was preceded in death by daughter, Gloria J. Griffith, three sisters; Sarah Lamphere, Allie O. Meadors and Roxie Sammons and brother, Claude Griffith.
