John M. Glas, 64, of Galesburg, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at home.
John was born September 1, 1949 in Galesburg, the son of John P. and Bernadette M. (Tadie) Glas. John graduated from Galesburg High School. He was a linotyper at the Register Mail for several years, he then worked as a salesman at LaSalle Electronics. He then worked at Gale Products and National Seal for 14 years. He has spent the last several years working for Mangieri Custodial Services.
John is survived by a son, Michael Glas of Colorado; a daughter, Crystal (Ian) Johnson of Galesburg; and a sister, Mary Ann (Bob) Goodyear of Oak Run. He is also survived by his friend and companion of 20 years, Missy Hilligoss of Galesburg and her children, Miranda Howard and Candace Isbell and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Patrick.
In his free time, John enjoyed building computers and listening to music. He also enjoyed history especially World War II. He was of the catholic faith. John loved to restore antiques and do woodworking. He also took great pride in caring for his yard.
