John Louis Keller was born in Galveston, Texas to Louis Keller and Lucille Williams Keller on February 12, 1936.  He graduated from Beaumont High in 1954 and attended Lamar Tech where he graduated in 1960 with a degree in Chemical Engineering.  He went to work for Gulf Oil and spent several years building an oil refinery in Argentina.  He was then assigned to Amsterdam.

In 1967, he was accepted into graduate school at Harvard Business School.  He paid for school by playing high stakes poker.  Upon graduating with an MBA from Harvard University in 1969, he was hired by the Bloomingdale Family as their investment manager and John moved to New York City. While in New York City, he met the love of his life Gill Keller. In 1983, his family moved to Denver, Colorado and he founded Corinthian Capital.  John built Corinthian Capital into a multi-million-dollar company and had $150 million dollars under management.

John developed a passion for hunting and hunted in Texas, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Alaska. The mountain lion that he had mounted is the stuff of legends. John was an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver—he read three newspapers daily and completed their crossword puzzles.

John is survived by two children and five grandchildren. He will be remembered for his loving and generous nature.
