I heard the voice of Jesus say “Come unto me and rest.” Mr. John Lewis McKeithan departed his life Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Cape Fear Valley Health System. He was born in Cumberland County, NC to the late John L. , Sr. and Annie McKeithan.

John was educated in the public schools of Fayetteville, NC. As a child he attended Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He was an employee of Fayetteville Technical Community College until his health failed him.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 21 years Linda Evans McKeithan; son, Charmaine Evans; a special grandson, James Bonner, Fayetteville, NC; three brothers, Robert (Mary) Holland, Harold (Sabrina) McKeithan, and Herman McKeithan all of Fayetteville, NC; four sisters, Joann (Robert) Watson, Fayetteville, NC, Mary Wilkins, Gloria (Calvin) Bryant both of Chicago, IL, and Evangeline (Bobby) Adams, Columbus, GA; mother-in-law Betty Hill, Fayetteville, NC; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Evans, Rita (Donald) Brown, Sicklerville, NJ; three brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Sheila) Seaford, Darryl (Lee) Seaford, Philadelphia, PA, Tony Hudgins, GA; a special sister Dianne McMillan; grandmother, Emma McKeithan, Fayetteville, NC; two aunts, Mary Bell, Beulah Burnette, Fayetteville, NC; two uncles, Lonnie McKoy, Fayetteville, NC, Earl (Cynthia) McKoy, Raleigh, NC; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. A very special nephew, Robert (Zina) Holland.
