John L. Hobson, 82, of Jones, passed away at 4:48 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at home, following a sudden illness.
He was born in Hutchinson, Kan., on Sept. 30, 1932, to the late Floyd and Martha (Thurston) Hobson.
He married the love of his life, Clara “Jean” Smith, on July 1, 1955, in Kalamazoo. She survives at home after 60 years of marriage.
Also surviving are his brother, Ed (Diane) Hobson of Elkhart, Ind., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a nephew.
