John Lloyd “JL” Ewing, 73, of Findlay, formerly of McComb, passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Blanchard Valley Hospital on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

JL was born in Findlay on May 30, 1949 to the late Dean and Sara (Duffield) and Mary Ewing. He married Deborah Branan on March 17, 1978, and she survives. Also surviving are his children: Anika Midge (Brad) Ewing-Brown, Thomas Brantt Ewing, and John Luke Ewing; grandchildren: Alicia Frankforther, David Stoepfel, Bailey (Kane) Benner, Patience (Corey) Swisher, Briella Bower, Morgan (Tre) Lopez, and Jerry Brown; great grandchildren:  Gavin Householder, RJ and Sahara Newman, Ryker Montgomery, Mercedes Frankforther, and Cooper, Hyde, and Max Lopez; siblings: Denise (Roger) Keeran, Diane (Steve) Box, sister-in-law Jean (Joe) Spaeth and brother-in-law Dean Branan. He had numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Eileen (Mary Jo), father and mother-in-law Russel “Bud” and Nellie Branan, brothers-in-law Dennis and Jeff Branan, and grandson Jimmy Brown.

JL graduated in 1967 from McComb High School and received his BA in Vocational Education in 1996 from the University of Toledo.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1968 until 1972.  Upon release from the Air Force, JL worked at B&J Photo as a service manager.  In 1979, he opened JL Ewing Electronics, located in downtown McComb until 1989.  In 1982, he began his teaching career at Findlay City Schools/Millstream Career Cooperative teaching electronics and then later Computer Repair and Networking.  He retired from teaching in 2011 and was a realtor from 2012 through 2022.
