Obituary of John Kellett
KELLETT, Sr., John “Jack” Edward of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013. He was 79 years old. John Edward Kellett was born March 9, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late John D. and Virginia (Kurbeck) Kellett. He married Ivalene “Ivy” on January 17, 1958 in Redondo Beach, California; she survives him. Jack proudly served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956, serving in Germany as a tank driver. After his honorable discharge, he then worked for General Motors for 43 years and 7 months, until his retirement in 1996. While employed at General Motors, he also owned and operated a one-of-a-kind hobby shop, “Nanny’s”, where he provided magic tricks, novelties, and theatrical equipment. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, collecting die cast cars, woodworking, model trains, but family get-togethers were his number one priority.
Surviving are wife of 55 years, Ivalene; six children, John (Pam), Todd (Dolores), James (Toni), Deanna (fiancé, Bob), Randy (Connie), and Kelly (Jennifer); 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Marsha) Bennett and David (Martha) Kellett; three sisters, Virginia (Donald) Lyons, Bonnie (Lou) Blank, and Sandra Devito; and many other family members and friends.
