Naugatuck – Mr. John Joseph Mascia, Sr., age 75, of Naugatuck, entered into eternal rest with his loving children by his side, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at his home. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Peggy Mascia. Mr. Mascia was born in Norwalk, on November 19, 1939 to Katherine Garner of Waterbury and her husband, the late John Joseph Mascia. Besides his mother Katherine Garner of Waterbury, he is survived by his son John J. Mascia, Jr. and his wife Susan of Prospect; his two daughters: Tiffany Mascia Bierly of Terryville and Nicole Mascia Green of Shelton; his sister Diane Bernardi and his brother James Garner both of Waterbury; four Granddaughters: Jonele Mascia, Lindsey Mascia, Jaime Clark and Taylor Green, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Linda Brochu of Vermont. Mr. Mascia was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and proudly served his country from October 24, 1961 until his honorable discharge on October 22, 1965. He served as a firefighter stationed at Hancock Field in Syracuse, New York.
