John Joseph “Jack” Morris, age 96, Logansport, passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017, in WoodBridge Health Campus.

Born December 30, 1920, in Logansport, he was the son of John Patrick and Margaret Conway Morris.

On December 26, 1942, in Logansport, he was married to Harriett Leah Beecher, who preceded him in death on December 19, 2005.

Jack went to work for the Pennsylvania Railroad in April of 1941. He started in the Car Shop and interrupted his railroad employment to serve his country in the United States Army, transportation corps, during World War II. After the War he returned to the railroad where he was employed in the Car Shop and Yard.

In the United States Army Jack was a 1st Sergeant. He was a member of the VFW Post 3790.

While retired he spent many long hours in his basement workshop on projects created for his family and friends. He and his wife, Harriett, also spent many hours camping and fishing. 

Surviving are sons, John M. (Mary Frances) Morris, Greenville, TX, James Patrick (Mary) Morris, Alexandria, KY; daughter, Jean A. (Fred) Klepinger, Logansport; sister, Marguerite Kaczmarek, Brownsburg.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Elizabeth (Don) Cook, Julianna Gibson, Jim (Casie) Klepinger, Joe Morris, Andy (Stacey) Morris, Eric (Heather) Klepinger and Megan (Dan) Little;.great-grandchildren, Christopher Gibson, Michael Morris, Fontana Cook, Hunter Klepinger, Olivia Little, Drew Morris, McKenna Morris, Owen Little, Alaina Little and Easton Klepinger.

Preceding Jack in death were a brother, Martin Morris and a sister, Rita Kendall.
