John’s parents, John Joseph Gallo, Sr., and Mary Hooper Gallo had five children Marylyn Pisello, Anne Holmstedt, John’s twin Walter J Gallo, Sr., and Joseph Gallo.

John and his wife Anne Gallo moved to south Florida in 1984. They were proud parents of four boys, John III, Wayne, Mark, and Peter, and proud grandparents of Sarah, John IV, Ethan, Samantha, Zachary, Brittan, Barrett, Lucas, and Bryce. A 1958 graduate of Holy Cross College in Worchester, Massachusetts, he served as the college’s Florida regional alumni president starting in 1984. John served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1983.

In 1991 John joined the staff of Lynn University. For over thirty years, he was one of the university’s greatest advocates in the Boca Raton community, generating strong support for student scholarships and campus growth.

John was an active member of the St.

John was also an active participant in numerous community projects as a member and president of the Boca Raton Sunrise Rotary and the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

We will miss our father greatly; he defined what it meant to be a good husband, father, and friend.
