John G. “Jack” Lichtenberg, age 80, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 21, 2022.  He was born on September 6, 1941 in Indianapolis to the late William Edward and Josephine (McGary) Lichtenberg.  He married the love of his life, Jo Ann (Lauck) Lichtenberg, on May 16, 1970 in her parent’s home on Union Street, her uncle, the Rev. Anthony Lauck, CSC presiding.

Jack was a graduate of Cathedral High School, class of 1959 and served the United States Navy in the Pacific, including at Hawaii and Midway Island.  Jack had a successful career in sales at various companies, received numerous awards including salesman of the year and eventually retired from Sanders Office Supply.  He enjoyed coaching CYO sports, most notably basketball, and enjoyed taking family vacations to Dale Hallow, Myrtle Beach, and driving across country to California.  He and Jo Ann spent their 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii.  The family enjoyed boating almost every weekend, most often at Racoon Lake.  Jack was an avid golfer and fisherman and golfed in a league with friends for many years.  He also enjoyed dining with friends in Gourmet Club, and playing cards with friends in Euchre Club.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jo Ann Lauck Lichtenberg; children: Leo Edward Lichtenberg (wife, Emily) and Jacqueline Ann Lichtenberg; sister-in-law Madeleine Lichtenberg; and grandchildren: Noah and Gabrielle Lichtenberg and Colin, Samuel and Kyle Moore.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Mary Ann Lichtenberg and William Edward Lichtenberg, III.
