John J. Yard, 81, of Bristol, widower of Janet (Molta) Yard, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Sub-acute Care in Forestville. John was born September 12, 1925, in Bristol, a son of the late Alfred B. and Mary (Segla) Yard.
Mr. Yard was owner and operator of Forestville Machine & Tool Co. until his retirement. John was a US Coast Guard Veteran of WW II. He was an avid motorcyclist.
He is survived by a son, Chris H. Yard of Terryville, and two grandchildren, Matthew and Allen Yard. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred B. Yard Jr., and Harry Yard.
