John Joseph Petro, 62, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was the husband of Ruthann L. (Witman) Petro. They were married 38 years on October 11, 2013. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Michael and Marie (Mikitka) Petro. John graduated from Liberty High School in 1969 and received a Bachelors degree from Kutztown State College. He also received a Masters degree at Kutztown and a Science Supervisor Certificate from Lehigh University. John taught Science for 35 years, the last 25 years as Science Department Chair of Liberty High School. He enjoyed camping, fishing and the Boy Scouts over the years. Survivors: his loving wife, Ruthann; a son, John Paul Petro, his wife Nicole and their son, Conor James of Bethlehem Twp.; a daughter, Katherine Marie Klinicki and her husband, Ryan of Phoenixville; a sister, Joanne Long and her husband Roger of Bethlehem; a twin brother, Michael Petro and his wife, Susan of Norristown; a nephew, five nieces and their families.
