John J. Mahoney,63
West Sand Lake John J. Mahoney,63,of Springer Road, passed into eternal life on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany, with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Watervliet, he was the son of the late Gerald and Blanche Mahoney and husband for 40 years of Elaine L. Foster Mahoney.
John was raised in Watervliet and served in the US Army. He had resided in West Sand Lake since 1965.
Mr. Mahoney earned his Bachelors degree from the College of St. Rose. He recently retired as a licensed Real Estate Broker, owner and President of T.J. O’Dell Realty.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Sand Lake and the New York State Association of Realtors. He enjoyed skiing, was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and most importantly, valued being a devoted husband, father, grandfather and provider.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters Suzanne Witte (Steven) of Arkville, NY and Lorraine Regan (Steven) of Morrisonville, NY; four grandchildren, Matthew Witte and Kiley, Keenan and Kiera Regan; his brothers and sisters, Lawrence Mahoney (Jean), Elizabeth O’Dell (Theron), Mary Grimmick (Ray), Linda Mahoney, Rose Duncan (Henry), Ellen Mahoney, Germaine Mahoney and Darlene Stark (Jerry); sisters-in-law, Ruth Mahoney, Joan Bradley and Nancy Foster; brother-in-law, Harold Foster and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas, Gerald and William Mahoney.
