John J. Lipinski passed away Wednesday July 30, 2014 at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ. He was born on February 3, 1925 in Jersey City, NJ and lived there until moving to Holiday Heights in Toms River. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Jersey City and graduated from Columbia University in New York City, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. He worked for 46 years at Pienkowski Pharmacy in Jersey City and Bayonne as a Pharmacist and Manager retiring in 1993.
He was a member of the Hudson County and Ocean County Pharmaceutical Association, VFW, Holiday Heights Men’s Club, Social Club and Toms River Polish Club. He served in the European Theatre in WW II as a combat medic from 1943 to 1946, receiving the Purple Hear t, Bronze Star, Normandy Invasion Combat Medic Medal, and three campaign stars. He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Melanie Bates, Ken Domanski and his wife Sandi, and Melissa DiLucchio and her husband Robert and other nieces and nephews and also his aunts Helen Murray and Claire Bienkowski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Marian Lipinski, Sisters Emelia Domanski and her husband Ed, Frances Lipinski, and Marion Bialik and her husband John and also his beloved companion, Margaret Pankewicz.
