John (Jack) J. Lavin, 86, of Seaside Park, NJ, died peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2019, surrounded by his family. Born in Newark, NJ, he lived most of his life in Kearny, NJ before moving to Seaside Park, where the family spent their summers since 1969. Jack was a proud Veteran of the US Navy and spent 2 years aboard the USS Randolph aircraft carrier.

He worked as a Draftsman and Engineer for AT&T and Lucent Technologies in Newark, NJ. Since 2000, Jack & Dot spent the winter months at their Vero Beach Florida home, and enjoyed frequent visits from the family. He was a parishioner of St Catharine of Sienna RC Church in Seaside Park and an avid Yankees fan.

Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years Dorothy (Landa), five sons and their spouses Robert & Kimberly of Toms River, John M. of Jackson, NJ Peter & Maria of Tinton Falls, NJ, Mark & Patricia of Pompton Lakes, NJ and Brian & Kelly of Toms River, NJ, one sister Patricia Roels of California, seven grandchildren Casey, Connor, Daniel, Kyle, Heather, Holly and Brendan and man’s best friend, Candy.
