John Gilbert Cappell, Jr., 62, of Haymarket, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family and cherished loved ones. Born to John Gilbert Cappell and Helen Jane Wilson, Jack lived a full life. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his generosity, work ethic, and commitment to family. He was a loyal son, a loving brother, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A tireless worker, Jack was president of Comfort Control, Inc., served as president of the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB), and continued to stay active in local NEBB activities, testing and serving on committees until his retirement. He started his career as a testing, adjusting and balancing technician for Comfort Control in 1982 and served as president beginning in 1989. Additionally, he was active with Sheet Metal Union Local 100 and served as a Contractor Trustee. Always skilled with his hands, Jack loved to rebuild classic cars with his father and brother-in-law. He enjoyed camping, fishing at the Ranch club, electric trains, watching movies with his son, and cheering on the Redskins. He loved to play golf with his son and grandson, and to travel the world. He cherished time spent with family and in the homes that he had designed and built himself. John is survived by his wife, Margarita, children Liliana Vanessa Kott (Stephen), Brian Cappell and Jessica Kott (Samuel); grandson Ethan Alejandro Rincon and his sisters, Renee June Kendall and Helen Marie Vincenty.
