John J. Getz of Burlington passed away on Saturday in Virtua Hospital, Mt. Holly at the age of 82. Born in Riverside John was a longtime Burlington resident who served his country honorably during WWII in the US Navy. He worked for the City of Burlington in the water department for 32 years before his retirement in 1985.
John was a parishioner of St. Paul’s RC Church and also belonged to Post #79 Capt. James MacFarland American Legion both in Burlington. John is survived by his wife of 53 years Ann “Nancy” Getz (nee:Irwin), daughter Ann Marie & Barry Grant of Arizona, son John of N. Carolina, and cousin Doris Stillings of Arizona.
