John J. Uncle John Gedmin, 86, of Oglesby, passed away Wednesday evening, January 6, 2016 at Hines VA Medical Center in Maywood.
Mr. Gedmin was born on December 9, 1929 in rural Oglesby to Justin and Mary (Rack) Gedmin. John served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at Marquette Cement Company in Oglesby and later retired as an Operating Engineer with Local 150. He was a 60 year member of the Oglesby American Legion post 237 and was a current member of Operating Engineers Local 150.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and five sisters.
