John Garry Erts, of Neversink, passed away surrounded by his family on January 11, 2022. He was 64 years old.
John was born on February 16, 1957 in Liberty, NY to Charles Erts and Marie Sackett Erts. From a very early age, John showed mechanical aptitude; he assisted his father in the family business from as far back as he could recall. After graduating high school, he attended SUNY Morrisville where he obtained an Associates Degree in Electrical Technology. He was the proprietor of Erts Mechanical, a successful business that will now be carried on by his long-time and experienced business partner, Thomas Halpin.
John lived a full life, and he enjoyed many hobbies. He liked to travel, he was a private pilot, and an avid photographer. He enjoyed skiing, boating, and other outdoor activities. He had a deep love for all animals. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was also a long time member of the Claryville Reformed Church and was Deacon to that parish for the past six years.
John is survived by his wife, Linda (Crawford) Erts; his children, Kendra and Ryan; his siblings, Sharon Klos and her husband John, Glenn Erts, and L. Richard Erts and his wife Brandy; his mother-in-law, Gail Bullock; his brother-in-law Kenny Bullock and his wife Kim; four nieces, one nephew, and three great-nieces.
