John Francis Swenskie Jr (55) of Dayton, OH formerly of West Milford, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior by faith on (October 5, 2022) at Kettering Health Medical Ctr., Kettering, OH, due to a fall that caused an intracranial hemorrhage.
He was born (November 23, 1966) in Clarksburg, WV, son of the late John F. & V. Ruth Swenskie.
John was a 1985 graduate of South Harrison High School and a 1989 graduate of Fairmont State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in mathematics, chemistry and science. Formerly employed by Mylan Pharmaceutical’s, WV and Teva, Pfizer and Abbvie Pharmaceuticals of Ohio.
He loved his career as a pharmaceutical chemist, a former high school teacher, assisted in (auctions) with Carlyle Millard at Diversified Marketing Inc. and living in the syfy zone of Star Trek books & sequels. Avid sports fan of Pittsburgh Steeler’s & WVU Mountaineer’s and attending his (grandsons) Caleb & Liam’s sporting events and spending time with his other (grands) Steven, Aubrey, Emerson and (granddogter) Helga.
John is survived by his loving wife Kimberly (Vanhorn) married December 31, 2014, his (step-sons) Hunter Vanhorn and (companion Bella Hall) of Clarksburg, WV, Andrew Stephens of Middletown, OH, Tyler Stephens of Miamisburg, OH, (step-daughter) Greg & (Loren) Stephens-Schulte of Franklin, OH (sisters-in-law) Cheryl Vanhorn-Hurda of Marshfield, WI, James & (Tina) Vanhorn-Grubb of Glen Rose, TX and (brothers-in law) Kirby Vanhorn of Mount Clare, WV, (Jason) & Heather Vanhorn of Clarksburg, WV (Ron) & Melissa Maxwell of Lost Creek, WV and (father-in-law) Emerson L. Vanhorn of Clarksburg, WV.
His (siblings) Tracy & (Jody) Swenskie-Taylor of Deatsville, AL, (Jeff) & Crissy Swenskie of West Milford, WV, (sister-in-law) Matilda Floyd-Swenskie of Lost Creek, WV and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents John F. & V. Ruth Swenskie, (sibling)Jim Swenskie (twin to Jeff) and (nephew) Steven Dotson II.
Eulogy will be deliver by Hunter Vanhorn and Dana & (Sally)Taylor (his life-long friends).
