John Floyd Wheeler, 82, passed away peacefully May 23, 2015, in Canon City, CO. He was born March 12, 1933 in Denver, CO, the son of Denver Floyd Wheeler and Stella Holden Wheeler. He is survived by Reva M. Wheeler, his loving wife of 38 years. He graduated from South High School, Denver, CO in 1950, and served in the US Navy Reserves for 3 years and 9 months. He was honorably discharged March 11, 1954, at Buckley Air Field, Denver, CO. In 2001 upon retiring from owning a bicycle shop for 15 years and a picture framing business for 10 years in Aurora, CO, they moved to Canon City. In addition, he was manager of the Safeway Grocery in Grand Junction for 18 years. His parents preceded him in death as well as his brother, James Wheeler; sister, Nellie Dick; and step-mother, Beulah Murphy Wheeler. He is also survived by four children, Curt L. Wheeler (Chris) of Box Elder, SD, Karen L. Pierson (Larry) of Grand Junction, CO, John L. Wheeler (Diane) of St. Joseph, MO, and Joel L. Wheeler of Grand Junction, CO; and sister, Lillian McLean of Olathe, CO. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephew, and cousins; and the mother of his children, Lillian Foiani Wheeler of Grand Junction, CO.
