John F. Swaisgood age 76, of Ashland, died Saturday December 17, 2011 at Kingston of Ashland. He was born November 16, 1935, in Lodi, the son of the late John Frank and Bessie Frances (Mann) Swaisgood. Mr. Swaisgood was a graduate of Kent State University. He had been employed as a Teacher for 12 years, he had taught science and math, working for South East Schools in Revena and Clover Leaf in Medina. He had also been an Apartment Manager in the Kent area for 18 years, had worked for Morse Controls as a Foreman for 6 years and most recently been a volunteer for the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren and the Mansfield Seventh Day Adventists Church. Mr. Swaisgood was a member of the Seventh- Day Adventist Church, he enjoyed running a booth at the Richland County Fair for the Church. He was a member of the Kent State University Rifle team and the Pershing Rifle team.
On June 10, 1956 John married Anna Mae (Rush) Swaisgood who survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Anita (Monte) Jackson of Roy, UT.; sons, Mark (Carmen) Swaisgood of Chesterland, OH., Roger Swaisgood of Streetsboro, OH., Roy (Diane) Swaisgood of Dillsburg, PA., Michael (Debbie) Swaisgood of Good Rich, MI.; along with his 9 grandchildren.
