John F. Paul, age 94, passed away peacefully at Norwalk Hospital on May 21, 2011 after a brief illness. Born in Norwalk, July 10, 1916, he was the son of the late Albert Ernest Paul and Mildred Patchen Paul. John was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Beverly Bowman Paul, and a son, Albert Paul 2nd. He is survived by a son, John F.X Paul and wife Deborah Paul, grandchildren John Albert Paul and Jennifer Anne Paul of Norwalk, CT, and a sister Nancy Paul of Danbury, CT.
Mr. Paul graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School, J.M Wright Technical School, and was a life member of the International Institute of Engineers and was a veteran of World War II. In 1980 he was recognized as a member of the Pope John Paul II Catholic Center in Washington, D.C. John Paul was a City of Norwalk employee for 23 years. Starting as a D.P.W employee draftsman, field survey crew member, tax assessor’s office, and first city traffic engineer until his retirement. He also was an elected city councilman.
