John Edward Black, son of Mary Beatrice Dastrup and Reuben Edward Black, was born Jan 12, 1931 in Sigurd, Utah. John passed away Sept 24, 2021 at his home in Crestwood, KY.
John joined the US army at age 17 and served four years in Berlin, Germany as part of the peacekeeping forces during the Berlin Blockade.
John was a pioneer in the Information Technology industry until he retired at the age of 75. Subsequently, he became an avid genealogist and helped many families find their roots.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters and three grandsons. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marian Faye Jensen, and children Christine, Joan (Steve), Lorraine (Terry), Catherine (Lee), and JD (Jenni), 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
