John E. Sexton, Jr., of Burlington City, died suddenly on Wednesday, December 5th, 2007 at the age of 58. Mr. Sexton was born in Mt. Holly and was a lifelong Burlington resident.
He was a graduate of Burlington City High School. He served in the Army National Guard with Company C, 1st Battalion, 114th Infantry, from 1969 to 1976 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He worked as a cemeterian at Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Burlington and also assisted with other maintenance needs at St. Paul’s School and St. Paul’s Church. John was a member of several organizations including the N.R.A., the Scully-Bozarth V.F.W. Post 1817, the Thaddeus Kosciuszko Club, both in Burlington City, and the Independent Fire Company, in Burlington Township.
John was also an avid deer hunter and a very active member of the Bordentown Deer Club. John is survived by his wife, Jane A. (Speed), his daughter, Kim Sexton, of Riverside, his son, Kevin, of Burlington, his grandchildren, Dustin, Noah and Madison, his siblings, Patricia (Dave) Dennison, Joan Warren, Mary Eberhart, Edward Sexton and Barbara (Eugene) Montalto, his Aunt Tilly and Uncle Norm and numerous nieces and nephews.
