John E. Curtis, 79, Anderson, died June 1, 2003 at Methodist Hospital-Indianapolis after a sudden illness. He was born May 18, 1924 in Monroe County, Kentucky, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in this area most of his life. He retired from Indiana Gas Company after 41 years of service. He was a member of South Anderson United Methodist Church. He was a Union member. He enjoyed walking at the Mall and bowling at East Side Lanes and Cooper Lanes. He also enjoyed camping and woodworking. He is survived by his Wife whom he married April 15, 1944 in Glasgow, Kentucky: Jane Clark Curtis. Two Children: George Earl & wife Deborah K. Curtis. Peggy & husband Harold Wolff of Anderson. One Sister: Inez Wooten of Glasgow, Kentucky. Two Granddaughters: Amy & husband Delbert Wright of Markleville. Jennifer Daniels of Anderson. Three Step Grandsons: Patrick & wife Wendy Rice of Elwood. Anthony & wife Andrea Rice of Alexandria. Victor Green of Anderson. Six Great Grandchildren. Thomas, Johnny, Jessica, Amber, Holden and Carson. Six Step Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded by his Parents: Laburn & Bessie White Curtis. Three Brothers: Denton Curtis, Dewey Curtis and Jack Curtis. One Sister: Jewel Garner.
