John Dennis Wilson of Indianapolis, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at the age of 81. John was born August 12, 1940, the only child of Harold and Opal Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife Judy Wilson; his daughter Jennifer Tribbett of Denver, Colorado; his son Joel Wilson (Carleigh) of Frankfort, Indiana; grandchildren Jordan and Connor Tribbett, Megan and Simon Wilson.
He grew up on the farm in Rushville, Indiana and graduated from New Salem High School in 1958. John then attended and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with an accounting degree and began working at Indianapolis Power and Light (IPL) in 1962. He married Judy Ulerich in 1967 and enjoyed almost 54 years of marriage. He had a long and varied career at IPL including obtaining his MBA from Indiana University and serving as a company officer as part of his career.
John had a passion for history and the arts. He was on the Indianapolis Repertory Theater board, supporter of the Indianapolis Symphony and was a volunteer at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art giving guided tours.
He was an avid Colts fan and enjoyed attending games with his son. He also attended the Indianapolis 500 for 40+ years. He loved to travel with his family and his wife Judy during retirement.
John loved the Lord and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed but know he is with the Lord in heaven.
