John D. Lattimore, 85, of Grove Hill, AL departed this life on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in Grove Hill Memorial Hospital, Grove Hill, AL. He was born June 3, 1932 to John and Mamie Burks Lattimore in Crawford, GA. Truck driving was his way of life. A member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hartford, CT, he served as a deacon and the transportation ministry. John and Arthurine co-pastored “From the Heart Ministries in East Hartford, CT where he served as a deacon and trustee. He loved and cherished his family, as well as, fishing and building things.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Theresa Lattimore; parents, John and Mamie Lattimore; siblings, Ernest Lattimore, Jeremiah Lattimore, Ben Lattimore, James Lattimore, Sherman Lattimore, Lucille Burke, Marie Lucas, Francis Echols and Annie Ruth Collins.
John leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Arthurine C. Lattimore; three sons, James Lattimore and Carlton Cody, Hartford, CT and Adam T. (Bianca) Lattimore, East Hartford, CT; three daughters, Glenda Lattimore and Ollie Lattimore, Hartford, CT and Grace Lattimore, East Hartford, CT; a brother, Will Lattimore, Athens, GA; a sister, Susie Robinson, Athens, GA; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
