Chatham, David Cothran, much admired Clerk-Treasurer of the Town of Chatham, twice decorated Vietnam veteran, and loving husband passed away on July 31, 2012 after a brief illness. Upon returning home from Vietnam, Mr. Cothran became a career banker for 34 years before coming to the town of Chatham. He was a friend of Scouting, an Eagle Scout, and member of the Order of the Arrow. Mr. Cothran was an avid golfer. He leaves a tremendous void which will be difficult to fill professionally and personally. A good friend to many in the area he will be remembered for his kindness and the ability to make people feel at ease.
