John Daniel Wise, 84, of Freeport, died Friday, November 26, 2010, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born April 8, 1926, in Grand Junction, Iowa he was the son of Charles and Flossie (Hoefle) Wise. He married Leona R. Briggs Jogerst on August 21, 1948, and she died on February 28, 1994. He married E. Louise Ridenour on October 15, 1994. John worked at Fair Banks Morse for 13 years and 26 years at Structo King Seely retiring in 1988. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife, Louise of Freeport; 1 step-son, Dennis Ridenour of Bremerton, Washington; 1 brother, Keith (Sara Jane) Wise of Freeport; 2 grandchildren, Collette (Roy) Dyson of Freeport and Leanette (Ryan) Marten of Wheeler, Wisconsin; 3 great-grandchildren, Stacy Dyson, Jeremy (Aimee) Dyson and Katelyn Dyson all of Freeport; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren, Paul and Michael Ridenour of Maryland, John and James Ridenour of Bremerton, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 step-daughters, Donna Jogerst and Patricia Wallis; first wife; 1 brother, Paul Wise; and 3 sisters, Marie Lorensen, Burnetta Larson, and Athelia Erdmier.
