John D. Wycherley, 82, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2014, with his family at his side at St. Lukes University Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Wycherley, with whom he shared over 51 years of loving marriage. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, John was the son of the late Rowland D. and Agnes (Tait) Wycherley. He joined the Royal Air Force, and became a champion featherweight boxer. He later immigrated to the U.S., and became a draftsman and civil engineer for many structural steel projects. John was the General Manager of Nicholas J. Bouras, Inc. for many years. He was also a published poet, and was very proud of his family, and of his Scottish heritage. Survivors: son Kenneth Wycherley and his wife Jodi of Hanover Township; daughter Linda Durham and her husband Charles of Gouverneur, NY; sister Etta Gavin of East Kilbride, Scotland; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by a daughter Elaine Galvin, sisters Peggy Cowie, Olive Black, Clara Watson, and Nancy Wotherspoon; brother Oliver Wycherley; and a grandson Michael Galvin.
