John C. Kellams, 77, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, in his home. John was
born April 13, 1938, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Chester Cleophus and Bessie Dean Kellams.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from CSX Railroad.
John was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mildred KellamsDeal and husband Charles,
brother in law, Jim Bedwell, grandson, Cody Jack Smithson in 1988 and his wife, Jean Kellams in
2012.
John is survived by his son, John W. Kellams of Terre Haute, In.; daughter, Jamie Stofel and
husband Kerry of Lobelville, Tn. and daughter, Dana Kellams of Murfreesboro, Tn. and their
mother, Mary L. Kellams of Lawrenceburg, Tn.; three grandchildren, Kyle Smithson and wife
Mandy, Erika Cooper and husband Anthony, and Jessica Mangrum; five greatgrandchildren;
Gage Smithson, Jocelyn Mangrum, Weston, Jamison & Hayden Cooper. Sisters Betty Kellams-
Bedwell of Terre Haute and Louise Kellams of Minneapolis, MN. Nephew, Jim Bedwell of
Greenwood, In., Nieces, Shirley DealTresize of Terre Haute and Maria Pinkstaff of Minneapolis,
Mn., and many grand nieces and nephews. Step daughter, Amee Hedge Cox of Terre Haute
and step son, James Forrest of Terre Haute.
