John C. Hancock, 78, of Anderson, passed away on October 23, 2017, at his residence. He was born on July 5, 1939, in Anderson, where he resided all of his life. John graduated from Anderson High School, and he retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 36 1/2 years of service. He was a member of The Pentecostals of Anderson, UAW #662, and A.A. for many years. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting. He also had a love for tattoos. He has been a friend of Bill Wilson since 1976.
John is survived by his loving wife, Amy Hancock; daughter, Susan (Bill) Kurtz; granddaughter, Lindsey (Jason) Partlow; great-grandchildren, Alexa, and Talon. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Johnson; brother, James Hancock; father, Wayne Hancock; mother, Bessie Hancock; and his sister, Sharon Sheets.
