John E. Black, age 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 2, 2011. He was retired from Hormel and American General Insurance Co. He attended Birmingham Southern College and was a member of Pheta Chi Fraternity John was a Charter member of Denman Memorial Methodist Church. He was a member of Farrah Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death by his parents, Evie T. and Bramlett T. Black, and his sisters, Josephine Black and Mary B. Heaton (Harrison). John was deeply devoted to his family and leaves to sorely miss him his wife of 53 years, Annie Ruth (Coolidge) Black; daughter, Lee Ann Black; son, John David Black (Donna); grandchildren, Aaron and Alaina Black; sisters, June Foster (James) and Jeanette Andrews; a host of nieces, two great nieces and two great nephews.
