John Ayala entered into rest peacefully February 5, 2017. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and dear friend, he was loved by many. John was from South Broadway, he entered this world December 7, 1933.
On St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1954, John married Ana Sanchez to begin a family in Albuquerque. He was an Army veteran who served his country with the highest initiative from 1954 to 1957. After his service, he then joined Sandia National Labs where he became head supervisor for all of carpentry, electrical and mechanical divisions.
Loyal to his roots, John started Ayala Construction Corp. & Ayala Properties in 1969. His love for real estate development throughout the North Valley, Nob Hill and North Albuquerque Acres, brought much happiness and gratitude in his life. In 1997, he started a statewide Limousine Company named Ayala Chauffeured Transportation. He loved being active in the community and enjoyed plenty of exercise and sharing as much time with his family.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Jenny and father, Gomesindo Ayala; brothers, Pasqual and Frankie Ayala, all of Albuquerque. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ana; his sisters, Hope Hufurd, Mary Duran and Andrea Maes, all of Albuquerque; his daughter, Therese Sanchez; and son, Pasqual L. Ayala, both of Albuquerque; and his grandchildren, Josue P. Ayala, Emmett Fritz, Clarese Sanchez, all of Albuquerque and Joseph Sanchez, of Denver, CO.
John worked tirelessly throughout his life in his businesses to ensure his family the best for their future.
