John Albert Lesi, Jr., 94, of Cromwell, husband of the late Marion (Norman) Lesi, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011. Born in Hartford on April 20, 1916, he was the son of the late Giacomo and Luigina (Fossi) Lesi. John was a longtime resident of Cromwell, and was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 38 years, at both the East Hartford and Middletown plants, as a Tool & Gauge Maker. He successfully completed the course in Tool Making with Remington Rand Incorporated in May, 1940. As a skilled carpenter, he loved to build solid quality furniture, as well as complete many home improvement projects. John was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the Army by guarding several bridges in and around New York City. John had also volunteered at Middlesex Memorial Hospital, and participated in several clubs, including the Glee Club of East Hartford. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors without being asked. As a loving and devoted husband and father, he will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, good sense of humor, love of animals, and for being a good provider for his family. John was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
