***UPDATED**** John A. Zuraw, 84, of Newington, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Born in Hartford, John was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Kochanski) Zuraw and husband of the late Barbara (Lynch) Zuraw for 61 years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Town of Newington in the Highway Department. John was a former member of the Polish American Club, Knights of Columbus, Newington Volunteer Fire Department, the Town of Newington Golf League and St. Mary’s Church for many years. A beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, John is survived by his daughters, Pamela Williams and Janice DiBattista and husband Jeffrey all of Newington, his son-in-law, Jeffrey Sachs of Berlin; his six grandchildren: Gary Williams and wife Deena, Nicholas, Nicole and Melissa DiBattista, Jessica and Eric Sachs; one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Williams and best canine companion, Buddy. Besides his wife and his parents, John was predeceased by his daughter, Victoria Sachs. John’s family would like to thank his caregiver, Nino who provided excellent care and comfort.
