Mr. John A. Dingee, age 84, of Roanoke, VA, formerly of Milford, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2006 after an illness. John was born in Bridgeport, attended St. Mary School and graduated from Warren Harding High School. He worked for the Post Publishing Co. for 42 years before retiring in 1988. John was a WW II veteran of the 8th Air Force, serving as a radio operator on a B-17 Flying Fortress and was awarded the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters and a Presidential Citation. He was a very decent man, a good husband, father, and grandparent, and had many friends. John is resting with God now and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Helen McDougall Dingee of Roanoke, VA, a daughter, Carolyn Saunders of Moneta, VA, two sons, John W. Dingee of Bumpass, VA, and Michael Dingee of Concord, VA, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a brother, Ralph Dingee of Milford.
