John A. Boardman, age 64, passed away peacefully at his home, April 11, 2015, with his wife by his side.

John was born December 31, 1950 in Rome, a son of the late Alfred and A. Frances Houston Boardman, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1969. He was united in marriage to the former, Louanne Potter on October 7, 1972; a blessed and happy marriage of 42 years. John operated a dairy farm from a young man until 1996, when he along with his wife, opened Boardman’s Stonewall Market in Taberg. Most currently, John worked at Mohawk Correctional Facility as an MVO, where he enjoyed his job and co-workers dearly. John never left for work without a smile on his face. He also served the Town of Annsville for over 32 years on town boards and committees in the Republican Party. John also served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick’s Church and was a man of extreme faith.

John is survived by his loving wife, Louanne; one daughter and three sons, Kelly Willson and Marty Olivas of Taberg, John and Danielle Boardman of Melbourne, Australia, Ryan and Annie Boardman of Rochester, and Dustin and Michelle Boardman of Vernon; grandchildren, Jordan Willson, Andrew, Maddie and Adin Boardman, and Zach and Derek Olivas; two sisters and four brothers, Anne and Denis Hartman, Kate and Ken Duell, Joe and Joanne Boardman, James and Debbie Boardman, David and Missy Boardman, and Bill and Rose Boardman; a sister in law, Joan Boardman; special aunt and uncle, Lucille and Bill Wick; sisters in law, Joan (Joe) Beasock, Ruth Mortis, Pat Scherz, Shirley Potter, Cyndi Potter and a special brother in law Tom Potter; numerous nieces and nephews; his very special friends, Judy Keshler, Bob Hoffman, Dave and Louanne Salmon, Mary and Dennis Finster, and Lani and Josh Duttinger; and his cherished pets, Brinn, Meggie, Lizzie, Oliver and Alice. He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Boardman, brothers in law, John Potter, Ronald Mortis and Gene Scherz, and his best friend, David Keshler.

John should be remembered as a strong, kind man who always entered his conversations with “I Love You Kid” and left you with a “God Bless You”.
