JoeAnn Magee Townsend, 86, a former resident of San Antonio, passed away on September 29, 2017 in Boerne. She was born in Bexar County to Kennon Eugene Magee and Daisy Mae Bost. She was the youngest of three children with two older brothers, Earl Callier and Kennon Magee, Jr.
She married Carl Lee Townsend on January 10, 1948 and they had three children, Carol Ann Townsend Pattie of Las Vegas, Nevada, Audrey Lee Townsend Hackler of Clinton, Tennessee, and Kennon Lee Townsend of Boerne.
JoeAnn was primarily a homemaker, but she and her husband Carl became interested in antiques and restoration in the mid 1970’s. They moved to Boerne in 1982 and made many friends and acquaintances buying, selling, and restoring antiques.
JoeAnn is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, husbands Carl and Harry, and daughter Audrey Lee Hackler.
She is survived by her children, Carol Ann (James) Pattie and Kennon Lee (Peggy) Townsend; her grandchildren, Clint Pattie (Kelly), Jacqueline Kite (Gary), Angela Suffridge (Eric), Holly Collins (Jimmy), Matthew Townsend (Stephen Holloway), and Michael Townsend; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
