Joe Ted Mendiola, aka Jayslick, was born in Corpus Christi, TX on April 21, 1962 and died in Arlington, TX on October 29, 2015 at the age of 53. He is the son of Hortencia Ballin and Jose David Mendiola.
Joe is survived by his daughter & son-in-law Brooke & Clint Rea; grandchildren Chloe Rea, Luke Rea, and Emma Jane Rea. He is also survived by his parents and his siblings, David Mendiola, Samuel Mendiola, Elizabeth Mendiola, John Mendiola, Beatrice Alcala, Patricia Reyna, and Alice Stienkemeyer; along with 4 nephews and 10 nieces.
Joe worked at Cameron Machine in Richardson, TX for over 30 years as a machinist; he also was a DJ on the side. Joe loved to perform and do impersonations, he loved racing & watersports, and he always enjoyed being on stage. Joe was a bassist with a band called Sloppy Joes. He enjoyed taking trips to the beach, was very active, and enjoyed running and working out. Joe was very strong with his faith in Jesus Christ and was an inspiration to those around him. He was always smiling and positive.
