Joe S. Archuleta

March 14, 1933 – October 2, 2018

Joe S. Archuleta was called home on October 2, 2018 to be with our Lord. He is survived by his beloved friend Lupe Varela and his sister Raphaella Gonzalez, nieces Rosemary Vallejos and Sarah Archuleta Trujillo, nephews Victor, Vincent, and Val Anthony Gonzalez, Valentine Jr., Edmond and Robert Archuleta and their respective spouses. He is preceded in death by his parents Salvador and Martina Archuleta, his brother Valentine Sr., and many other relatives.

Joe was born with a heart condition, but never let it stop him from living his life as a rancher. His ranch was one of his greatest passions. He enjoyed working with his cattle, growing and bailing hay, and teaching his trade. He also helped take part in the Upper Pecos Soil and Water Conservation District. Aside from ranching, he had a lifelong passion for serving our Lord. He was an active Catholic parishioner, involved with several ministries in the church such as a Eucharistic minister and usher. He was a member of The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal and an active parishioner at Holy Family Church.

Over the last few days we have heard many amazing stories about Joe’s faithfulness, happiness, his loving and caring nature, and his willingness to help everyone. Joe has lived by the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Our family is grateful for all who have assisted Joe over the last few years.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
